The United Nations General Assembly adopted by consensus a resolution declaring 20 May as World Bee Day on December 20, 2017. The resolution was co-sponsored by 115 UN Member States including Turkey.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has supported the World Bee Day on different international platforms. The 45th Apimondia International Apicultural Congress was held by the Turkish Beekeeping Association in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in Istanbul.

​This announcement is for the academic staff and students of the relevant departments of universities, notably faculties of agriculture and veterinary medicine, food engineering and biology. They could organize various activities within the bounds of possibility to raise awareness about the topic.
