Diplomacy Seminar for University Students Affected by Earthquake

The Council of Higher Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will organize an online seminar on foreign policy for the university students affected by the earthquake on 8-18 May 2023.

"Online Diplomacy Seminar for University Students Affected by Earthquake" was organized in cooperation with the Center for Strategic Research (SAM) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

CoHE President Erol Özvar addressed the students at the Online Diplomacy Seminar for University Students Affected by Earthquake, which was held under SAM's "Hand in Hand with Our University Students in the Earthquake Region" program planned to be held on 8-18 May 2023.

Özvar said that the protocol signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Council of Higher Education offers students a program apart from their university education and added, "This program aims to introduce you to various themes of Turkish foreign policy, to bring your interest together with the current issues, political issues, foreign affairs and international relations of Türkiye, and to provide information about Türkiye's current foreign policy from the experts."

He stated that it was important for students to participate in this kind of important scientific events outside university and said, "We will organize new seminars in addition to the courses in your programs. I believe that you will benefit from this event. The more our students participate in scientific and academic activities outside their programs, departments or faculties, the more they will increase their knowledge, skills and competencies. Such activities outside university but with university quality provide our university students with extremely important qualifications."

The Online Diplomacy Seminar aims for students to get to know the Ministry of Foreign Affairs closely and to receive training on important topics of foreign policy. Students from 15 universities in the earthquake zone will participate in the online seminar program.
