- Meeting addresses existing higher education cooperation between the two countries and opportunities for new partnerships

Council of Higher Education President Erol Özvar received Sheikh Musa Sindayigaya, Leader of the Muslim Community of Rwanda and Mufti of Rwanda, and his accompanying delegation at CoHE.
The meeting between the two delegations addressed ongoing academic cooperation in higher education between Türkiye and Rwanda, as well as opportunities for future partnerships.
The sides discussed concrete steps that could be taken to expand educational opportunities at the undergraduate and graduate levels, particularly in theology faculties.
They also exchanged views on encouraging student and academic staff mobility between higher education institutions in the two countries, increasing institutional knowledge-sharing, and supporting joint academic studies.
The meeting also addressed new opportunities for cooperation, including further developing collaboration in higher education and establishing joint degree programs.
- Özvar: “We will further develop academic cooperation”
CoHE President Erol Özvar emphasized that Türkiye would continue to strengthen its higher education relations across the African continent, particularly with Rwanda, through academic cooperation, capacity building, and initiatives aimed at developing qualified human resources.
He said increasing student and academic staff mobility between higher education institutions in the two countries, enhancing institutional knowledge-sharing, and supporting joint academic studies would contribute to taking bilateral cooperation to a higher level.
